Institutional Objectives

At the end of the training in Bachelors Course students should be able to:

KNOWLEDGE

Theoretical/Factual :

PO-1. Equipped with adequate, trustworthy and up-to-date knowledge of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.

PO-2. Equipped with the knowledge to plan and practice the Physiotherapy program, making use of the right assessment techniques on the healthy, the handicapped and the ones in need of physiotherapy.

PO-3. Equipped with the knowledge related with physiotherapy practice

SKILLS

Cognitive/Practical :

PO-4. Using the theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of physiotherapy performs assessment and planning of physiotherapy practice, for individuals requiring physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

PO-5. Performs applications of assessment, planning and physiotherapy practices by using of technological development and health policies.

PO-6. Reflect practices and analyze the problems by using the knowledge and the skills of the field of physiotherapy.

COMPETENCY

Ability to work independently and take responsibility

PO-7. Using the knowledge in the field of physiotherapy, by making analysis and synthesis, works independently and takes responsibility.

PO-8. Execution,organising,presenting the services of the physiotherapy and rehabilitation in daily practices and within the scope of planning project, solving problem, manages plans while watching the process and evaluating.

LEARNING COMPETENCE

PO-9. In the physiotherapy field lifelong, learning, developing new ideas, considering importance to quality, evaluates the knowledge sources through a critical approach.

PO-10. Reaches the knowledge by using effectively the professional knowledge sources and physiotherapy techniques, adopts positive manner and attitude model and describes learning targets.

COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL COMPETENCE

PO-11. Uses the information and communication technologies related with the physiotherapy and rehabilitation field, by communicating verbal and written ways, expresses his self effectively.

PO-12. In the health field, watches the developments in the agenda of the society and the world and evaluates with the conscious of social responsibility.

FIELD-BASED COMPETENCE

PO-13. In the physiotherapy and rehabilitation practices, by looking after the duty, rights and responsibilities, within the cooperation of the related disciplines, acts appropriately to the professional ethical rules and legislation.

PO-14. Practices the physiotherapy and rehabilitation applications for the professional honesty and benefit of individual by bearing responsibility and forming an accurate model through providing safety in every step

 

National Goals

At the end of the undergraduate programme the PT students shall endeavor to be able to:

  • Learn every aspect of health policies and devote himself/herself to its practical implementation.
  • Achieve competence in the practice of holistic approach towards the physical, mental, social and vocational rehabilitation of personal health.
  • Recognize health for as a national goal and health right of all citizens and by undergoing training for P. T. profession fulfil his/her social obligations towards realization of this goal and promotion of wellness in the society.
  • Develop scientific temper, acquire educational experience for proficiency in profession and promote preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of healthy living.
  • Became exemplary citizen by observing ethical principles.

 

PROGRAM  SPECIFIC  OUTCOME

Goal 1: Promotes health and wellness, examines, evaluates, diagnoses, prognoses, and provides intervention and manages physical therapy services for individuals with movement dysfunction.

  • PSO 1a: Passes the university examination.
  • PSO 1b: Provides quality patient/client care at entry level.
  • PSO 1c: Participates in administration of fiscal, human, and environmental resources in a clinical context consistent with regulatory processes.
  • PSO 1d: Provides physical therapy services for prevention, health promotion, fitness and wellness.

Goal 2: Functions in a highly professional, ethical, legal, and culturally-competent manner and demonstrates commitment to society and the profession.

  • PSO 2a: Demonstrates professional behaviors.

Goal 3: Communicates and educates the individual, family, community, and other professionals about rehabilitation, positive health, prevention, and wellness.

Goal 4: Critically evaluates and applies evidence as a basis for physical therapy practice, determines the effectiveness of intervention, and contributes to the body of knowledge in physical therapy.

  • PSO 4a: Clearly and concisely presents and applies scientific information to evidence-based practice.

Course Outcome

Goal 1: Is a national leader, training physiotherapy for evidence-based, collaborative clinical practice.

  • Course Outcome 1a: Is nationally recognized.
  • Course Outcome 1b: Attracts the highest quality students and ensure a diverse student body.
  • Course Outcome 1c: Maintains a high graduation rate
  • Course Outcomes1d: Has graduates who pursue continuing education, including residencies, fellowships, and advanced clinical training.

Goal 2: Prepares academic doctoral students for leadership roles in advanced clinical practice, basic, clinical and translational research, and academic programs in health care.

  • Course Outcome 2a: Has graduates who find employment in advanced clinical practice, academic institutions, and/or research.
  • Course Outcome 2b: Has graduates who maintain an active publishing and presentation record.
  • Course Outcome 2c: Has graduates who participate in professional organizations.

Goal 3: Promotes faculty and student engagement in basic science, clinical, and translational research and supports dissemination of new knowledge.

  • Course Outcome 3a: Maintains and/or increases extramural funding research program.
  • Course Outcome 3b: Conducts scholarly activity and disseminates results at local, state, national, and international levels.

Goal 4: Models best practice in patient care, provides clinical education for students and continuing education for practicing rehabilitation specialists, and encourages evidence-based practice in the profession.

  • Performs quality assessment of clinical competency to ensure best clinical practice.
  • Attracts, hires, and retains trained clinical educators with clinical specialty/certifications and previous experience working with students and patient populations.
  • Promotes professional development of staff and students.
  • Sponsors CME-approved continuing medical education programs for practicing physical therapists and other healthcare practitioners.

Goal 5: Promotes the physical therapy profession, and provides healthcare education, outreach, and clinical care to the general population, including the underserved.

  • Expands and supports students’ and faculty members’ activities in community-based, cross-disciplinary university-community partnerships.
  • Develops outreach activities for students and faculty to address areas of community need.
